Who we are

Sterrett Engravings is a small home business owned by Justin Sterrett.  He works from a room in his basement as a hobby and side job.

What we do

Sterrett Engravings uses a Dremel rotary tool to engrave words and images mostly on glass products, including mirrors, but also on wood and even metal.  Justin travels to various craft/vendor shows, mainly in central and northwest Ohio. A large portion of his sales come from these shows, but he also sells online and takes special orders.  Popular special requests are personalized 9x13 baking dishes for Christmas or wedding gifts (name and image or date), vases for special anniversaries (name and date with "Happy 25th Anniversary"), and ornaments at Christmastime (name with or without date or an image).

Due to trademark laws we cannot engrave logos for professional/college teams, Disney characters/logos, and other trademarks.

            How we're different

Many people/businesses who do engraving/etching use either a laser engraver, sand blaster, or etching cream.  While it has been tempting at times to go in this direction, Sterrett Engravings uses a Dremel rotary tool to engrave everything by hand.  Words can be engraved in a variety of fonts, and images come in a wide range of categories, from individual sports, to animals, to nautical, to musical...

While these other methods can make for a more detailed and precise look and be produced faster, we prefer to stick with engraving by hand to give a unique artistic aspect to each piece.  In engraving by hand a variety of bits are used that each have a different purpose.  With hand engraving we don't have a cookie cutter process.  Every piece from Sterrett Engravings will be unique and have it's own special touch applied to it.
